Working Principle
The SH-DR Series Capacitive Level / Liquid Level Meter is a high-performance capacitive level transmitter based on HART communication protocol. The instrument measures the level of medium inside the container by detecting the change of capacitance.
Inside the container, a capacitor is formed by the electrode rod and the container wall or another reference electrode. When the dielectric constant of the measured medium remains unchanged, a fixed frequency measurement voltage is applied to the electrode. The current flowing through the capacitor changes according to the height of the medium between the electrodes. This change is proportional to the liquid or material level and can be converted into a standard output signal for level monitoring.
